What happened
A charter flight operating from Manaus-Eduardo Gomes Airport crashed while attempting to land at Barcelos Airport. The flight, which had departed approximately two hours earlier, was carrying 12 passengers—Brazilian tourists traveling for a fishing excursion on the Río Negro—along with the crew.
As the aircraft was on its final approach to runway 09/27, the crew encountered challenging weather characterized by heavy rainfall and significantly diminished visibility. During the short final phase of the flight, the crew attempted to execute a go-around procedure. During this maneuver, the aircraft type experienced an apparent stall, leading to a crash into an embankment situated near the runway. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the plane and 14 fatalities, with no survivors among the occupants.
