What happened
During the final approach to runway 22 at Abuja-Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, the flight crew issued an emergency declaration. This announcement followed reports of smoke appearing within both the cockpit and the passenger cabin. Following this period of distress, the aircraft experienced a stall and impacted the ground approximately 120 metres before reaching the runway threshold.
Findings
The accident resulted in two fatalities, involving one passenger and one individual on the ground. Additionally, the incident left 12 others injured. The sequence of events indicates that the aircraft stall occurred while the plane was in the landing phase of flight.
