What happened
During the landing phase at Mogadishu-Aden Adde Airport, a twin engine airplane successfully touched down on runway 05. As the crew initiated standard braking maneuvers, the aircraft traveled several hundred meters along the runway before deviating toward the left side of the pavement.
Upon exiting the runway surface and encountering soft ground, the aircraft underwent a sharp left pivot of nearly 180 degrees. The sequence concluded when the plane collided with a concrete wall, an impact that caused the fuselage to break into two separate pieces.
All 34 occupants on board were successfully rescued from the wreckage. While there were no fatalities, the incident resulted in two injuries among the passengers.
Findings
- The aircraft lost directional control after touchdown.
- The impact with a structural barrier caused the airframe to separate.
