What happened
A cargo operation departing from Salvador Airport at 05:25 local time ended in a fatal accident during its arrival at Lençóis Airport. The flight, which was transporting bank documentation, was operated by a crew consisting of two pilots.
As the twin engine aircraft prepared for its arrival, the flight crew encountered weather conditions that significantly reduced visibility. While performing the final approach to the destination, the pilot executed a left-hand turn. During this maneuver, the aircraft struck the ground approximately 2 km from the runway threshold. The impact resulted in a post-crash fire that caused the total destruction of the airframe. There were two fatalities among the crew members.
