What happened
Upon completing the landing phase at Vĩnh Long Airstrip, the aircraft encountered unexpected mechanical difficulties. Following touchdown on the runway, the plane became uncontrollable and drifted off the paved surface before coming to a final stop.
Despite the severity of the excursion, all three crew members were able to exit the wreckage without sustaining any injuries. The impact of the event resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss.
Findings
Investigations into the incident determined that a mechanical failure occurred during the landing roll. Specifically, one of the propellers transitioned into reverse pitch unexpectedly due to a malfunction, which caused the aircraft to veer sharply off the runway.
