What happened
During an active airlift supply operation, the aircraft was performing a landing at a remote airfield. As the plane touched down, the nose landing gear experienced a structural failure and collapsed. This mechanical malfunction caused the aircraft to come to a complete halt on the runway.
Following the collapse, the crew determined the aircraft could not continue operations and subsequently abandoned the plane at the site. There were no injuries reported among the four crew members involved in the mission.
Findings
- The primary factor in the incident was the collapse of the nose gear during the landing phase.
