What happened
During a low-level supply mission, an aircraft was operating at an altitude of approximately 150 feet when it sustained direct hits from enemy artillery. The impact caused the plane to crash into a heavily forested region, where it subsequently caught fire.
There were no survivors of the accident. The incident resulted in five fatalities, involving all members of the flight crew present on board at the time of the strike.
Findings
Official investigations concluded that the destruction of the aircraft was a direct result of enemy artillery fire striking the plane while it was in flight.
