Incident Overview
On 6 October 2015 at approximately 1311 UTC (9:11 AM Eastern Standard Time), a Cessna 152 aircraft, registration N89540, was involved in an incident near Grand Bahama International Airport in the Bahamas. The aircraft was on a general aviation piston operation. While preparing for landing, it experienced a loss of power and was unable to reach the airfield.
Landing and Aftermath
The aircraft crash-landed in bushes approximately 5 miles from Grand Bahama International Airport. According to the Bahamas Air Accident Investigation Department (AAID), there were no injuries sustained by the two occupants on board. The aircraft received damage, but the extent of that damage was reported as unknown.
