What happened
A ferry flight was underway on 31 December 2009, traveling from Ketapang toward the Tangar Airstrip. The flight path had previously included stops at Ujung Tanjung, Jambi, and Pangkal Pinang. The aircraft, operated with a crew consisting of one pilot and one maintenance engineer, was considered airworthy prior to its departure from Ketapang.
At approximately 08:17 local time, the pilot initiated engine start procedures. Following this, the crew received taxi clearance via taxiway A and was authorized to use the intersection of runway 17. After receiving departure clearance from Air Traffic Control, the aircraft took off at 01:25 UTC.
One minute after departure, the aircraft crashed at 01:26 UTC. During the initial climb, the aircraft struck the roof of a hospital and subsequently broke apart in a parking area located roughly 1.5 kilometers to the left of the flight path centerline. The accident resulted in two fatalities, involving both the pilot and the engineer.
