A pilot on a spraying mission in Papua crashed after his aircraft's left wing hit trees during a turn. The aircraft was destroyed and the pilot killed.

Accident Details

A pilot, who was the sole occupant of an aircraft, was conducting a spraying mission over a palm tree plantation in the region of Desa Lereh, Papua. After completing ten sorties, the pilot returned to Desa Lereh Aerodrome, where the aircraft was loaded with 1,300 kilograms of fertilizer.

Following takeoff, the pilot initiated a left turn. During the maneuver, the left wing of the aircraft struck trees, causing the aircraft to crash approximately 4 kilometers from the airfield. The impact destroyed the aircraft and resulted in the pilot's death.

Aftermath

No other injuries or damage were reported. The aircraft was destroyed beyond repair.
