What happened
During the landing phase at Varginha-Major-Brigadeiro Trompowsky Airport, the aircraft drifted to the right of the runway centerline. As the crew worked to regain control and correct the path, the right main landing gear collided with runway lights. The force of this impact resulted in the gear being detached from the airframe.
Following the loss of the landing gear, the aircraft lost directional stability and performed a 90-degree turn to the right. The plane subsequently exited the runway surface and came to a stop. There were no injuries reported among the two pilots on board following the incident.
Findings
- The aircraft drifted from the established centerline during the landing roll.
- Impact with runway lighting caused the separation of the right main landing gear.
