What happened
On July 1, 2008, at 19:01 UTC, an air traffic management (ATM) incident occurred at Geneva Airport (LSGG). The incident involved two commercial aircraft: a TAP-operated Airbus 320, registration CS-TNG, which had been cleared to line up on runway 23, and an Air France-operated Airbus 321, registration F-????, which was preparing to land on the same runway.
The investigation
The Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (BFU Switzerland) initiated an investigation into the event and notified the Portuguese GPIAAF. In response, the GPIAAF contacted the TAP Flight Safety Department to collect all available initial information. The GPIAAF did not open a separate investigation but forwarded the gathered data to the BFU Switzerland, offering further assistance if required for the ongoing Swiss inquiry.
