What happened
On a local instrument training mission, an aircraft departed from SBBH (Pampulha - Carlos Drummond de Andrade - Aerodrome) in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The flight was intended to consist of several touch-and-go maneuvers and was operated with three people on board, including two pilots and an additional crew member.
During the initial approach phase of the flight, the aircraft landed on the runway. However, during the subsequent landing roll, the aircraft failed to stop within the runway boundaries. The plane veered slightly to the right of the longitudinal axis and overran the departure end of runway 13. The aircraft eventually struck a protective fence situated beyond the runway limits, coming to a rest approximately 95 meters from the edge of the runway.
Findings
The impact with the perimeter fence caused substantial damage to the aircraft type/model (not specified in source). While the aircraft sustained significant structural damage, the occupants escaped with minimal harm. The pilot in command sustained minor injuries, while the second in command and the third crew member remained uninjured.
