What happened
On the morning of November 22, 2004, a Gulfstream G-1159A, registered as N85VT, was performing an instrument landing system approach to runway 4 at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas. While operating under instrument flight rules, the aircraft, managed by Business Jet Services Ltd., collided with a light pole approximately 3 miles southwest of the airport. The impact caused the total destruction of the aircraft.
There were three fatalities among the crew, consisting of two pilots and one flight attendant. A person traveling in a nearby vehicle sustained minor injuries during the event. At the time of the accident, the area was experiencing instrument meteorological conditions.
