What happened
Upon completing the landing phase on runway 33 at Rosh Pina Airport, the flight crew encountered issues with the aircraft's deceleration capabilities. The captain observed that the thrust reverser systems were not functioning as expected and subsequently directed the copilot to attempt to engage them a second time.
Despite these efforts, the aircraft was unable to slow down sufficiently on the runway. In an attempt to manage the situation, the captain steered the aircraft off the paved surface. During this excursion, the aircraft collided with a concrete block, which resulted in the loss of the undercarriage. The aircraft eventually came to a stop after the impact.
Findings
- The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss.
- There were zero fatalities and zero injuries among the eight occupants on board.
- The primary factor in the excursion was the malfunction of the thrust reverser systems during the landing roll.
