What happened
On April 3, 2023, at approximately 20:00 UTC, a Cessna 152-II, registered as LV-COD, was involved in a technical incident at Brigadier Ojeda International Airport in the province of San Luis. The aircraft was conducting a general aviation instruction flight when the crew was preparing for departure.
While positioning the aircraft for takeoff, the crew identified an anomaly regarding the landing gear. Upon performing a visual inspection, it was determined that the nose gear tire had suffered a total deflation.
The investigation
The National Directorate for the Investigation of Aeronautical Occurrences (DNISAE) conducted an intervention following the event. The investigation focused on the malfunction of a specific aircraft component, specifically the nose gear tire. Because the event did not involve engine failure or significant structural damage, the investigation was categorized as a technical intervention rather than a major accident investigation. Following the review of the facts, the authorities moved to archive the proceedings.
Findings
- The primary cause of the incident was the total deflation of the nose gear tire.
- The event occurred during the takeoff phase of an instructional flight.
- There were no injuries to the crew or passengers, and the aircraft sustained no damage.
