What happened
On August 2, 2024, at 13:30 UTC, a Piper PA-46-350P, registration LV-JVZ, was involved in a ground incident at Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Ezeiza) in Buenos Aires. The aircraft, operated by a private entity, was performing a general aviation ferry flight from Ezeiza toward Estancia El Pingo.
During the taxi phase toward runway 35, while the aircraft was traversing taxiway Delta, the pilot experienced a puncture of the left main gear tire. The incident caused a temporary obstruction of the taxiway, though no injuries were reported to the two occupants on board.
The investigation
The preliminary investigation focused on the circumstances surrounding the tire failure during ground operations. The JST examined the aircraft's movement along taxiway Delta and the impact of the puncture on taxiway availability. The investigation confirmed that the aircraft was operating under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) at the time of the event.
