What happened
On September 4, 2024, at approximately 21:15 UTC, a Cessna 182G, registration LV-IIG, was conducting a general aviation transit flight from Fuerte Esperanza to Aeroclub Chaco. While cruising en route, the aircraft's engine experienced a reduction in power. Faced with the loss of engine performance, the pilot executed an emergency landing on Provincial Route 13, near the El Obrador area in the Chaco Province.
The investigation
The preliminary investigation established that the aircraft was operating under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) at the time of the incident. The flight was a non-commercial transfer operation involving one pilot and two passengers. The landing took place on a provincial highway, and while the aircraft sustained no damage, the event required an immediate response to manage the landing on a public roadway.
