A flight traveling from Manaus to São Paulo crashed into a plantation during its approach to an alternate airport due to low altitude.

What happened

On an afternoon flight originating from Manaus-Eduardo Gomes Airport, the crew was en route to São Paulo-Congonhas Airport. During the flight, the flight crew received notification regarding worsening weather conditions at their intended destination. Consequently, the aircraft was redirected to Campinas-Viracopos Airport.

While performing a night approach to the alternate airport, the aircraft type (not specified in source) struck trees within an eucalyptus plantation situated approximately 2 km from runway 14.
