An aircraft operating a domestic flight from Maiquetía-Símon Bolívar Airport to Barcelona crashed into the sea off the coast of Naiguatá, State of Vargas, after experiencing a loss of control during cruise. The accident occurred approximately five minutes after departure.
Flight Details
The flight departed at 0011 local time, with a scheduled duration of 35 minutes. The aircraft climbed to a cruising altitude of 23,000 feet before it went out of control and plunged into the water. The impact site was located a few kilometers offshore from Naiguatá.
Wreckage and Casualties
The aircraft disintegrated upon impact. The following morning, a small amount of debris was observed floating on the surface. All five occupants on board were killed.
