Incident Overview
Shortly after departing from Guadalajara-Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Airport, the flight crew encountered problems with high voltage in the aircraft's electrical system. While attempting to troubleshoot and resolve the issue, the electrical system ultimately failed. The crew promptly informed air traffic control of the situation and received clearance to return to the airport for an emergency landing.
Emergency Response
The crew executed the return flight and prepared for an emergency landing. As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the landing gear collapsed. The aircraft then slid on its belly along the runway surface before coming to a stop. After the aircraft came to rest, it burst into flames.
Outcome
Despite the severity of the incident, all six occupants on board evacuated the aircraft without injury. The aircraft sustained extensive damage and was destroyed by the impact and subsequent fire.
