What happened
A charter flight operating from Medellín-Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport was traveling to Capurganá with a total of 18 people on board, consisting of two pilots and 16 passengers. The flight arrived at Capurgan and touched down on runway 03. Following the landing, the twin engine aircraft drifted toward the left side of the runway. The movement continued as the plane exited the paved surface, traveling through a grassy field where it eventually struck a perimeter fence and stopped against a tree.
Findings
While the aircraft was completely destroyed during the excursion, all 18 occupants were successfully rescued from the wreckage. The incident resulted in three injuries, including one serious injury sustained by the captain. The primary factor in the accident was the uncontrolled deviation from the runway centerline following touchdown.
