What happened
On the date of the accident, a twin-engine cargo aircraft was performing a transport flight from Bukavu to Shabunda. The flight was carrying a payload of approximately 1,500 kilograms of various goods. The crew consisted of two pilots.
Shortly after departing from Bukavu-Kavumu Airport, the aircraft entered a climb phase. During this ascent, the aircraft became uncontrollable and descended into the area near the village of Bugulumisa, which is situated at the edge of the Kahuzi-Biega National Park. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the twin-engine aircraft. There were two fatalities among the crew, with no survivors reported.
