What happened
During a local training mission conducted at Riga-Lielvārdes Air Base, an aircraft experienced a sudden loss of control. While the crew was flying at an altitude of approximately 150 to 200 meters directly over runway 36, the pilot-in-command attempted to execute a barrel maneuver. During this maneuver, the aircraft became uncontrollable and descended into the runway.
The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were two fatalities among the occupants of the aircraft during the accident.
