What happened
While operating a flight from Budapest to Prague, the crew encountered adverse weather conditions involving significant icing. As the aircraft experienced operational difficulties due to these environmental factors, the captain initiated a descent to a lower altitude. The pilot subsequently attempted an emergency landing in a field located near Polná.
Upon touchdown in the snow-covered terrain, the aircraft type (unspecified) suffered a failure of its undercarriage. The impact caused the plane to slide for several dozen yards before coming to a complete stop, resulting in structural damage where both wings became bent.
Findings
All 33 occupants on board were successfully evacuated from the wreckage following the incident. While most individuals escaped without major harm, one passenger sustained serious injuries during the event.
