What happened
During the takeoff roll, the aircraft drifted off the runway centerline to the right. This deviation occurred because the rudder trim was not set to the neutral position prior to departure. The flight crew did not initiate an abort of the takeoff procedure. Approximately thirty seconds after liftoff, while in the initial climb phase, the right wing made contact with a telegraph line and subsequently collided with a high-voltage power pole. Following this impact, the aircraft lost control, entered a stall, and crashed to the ground.
The accident resulted in one fatality, as a mechanic on board was killed. Thirteen other occupants sustained injuries. The airframe was destroyed in the crash.
