Incident Details
A crew departed Đà Nẵng Airport on a bombing mission targeting the Thanh Hoa bridge. The mission was apparently uneventful. Subsequently, the aircraft crashed into the Sông Mã River under unknown circumstances. No trace of the aircraft or its eight crew members was ever found.

The crew consisted of eight members: Major Thomas Franklin Case, First Lieutenant Harold Jacob Zook, Captain Emmett Raymond McDonald, Captain Armon D. Shingledecker, First Lieutenant William Rothroc Edmondson, Staff Sergeant Bobby Joe Alberton, Aviation Machinist's Mate First Class Philip Joseph Stickney, and Aviation Machinist's Mate First Class Elroy Edwin Harworth.
Aftermath
Despite search efforts, no remnants of the aircraft or personnel were located. The circumstances of the crash remain undetermined.
