What happened
Upon completing its landing at Chania-Souda Airport, a four-engine aircraft experienced a loss of directional control. Following the initial touchdown on the runway, the plane veered off the paved surface. During the excursion, the aircraft's undercarriage was separated from the airframe. The movement eventually ceased after the plane came to a complete stop off the runway.
Findings
- The aircraft sustained significant damage and was subsequently written off.
- There were no injuries reported among the 26 occupants on board.
- The incident occurred during the landing phase of flight.
