What happened
During flight, an engine on the aircraft ignited, creating an immediate threat to airworthiness. The crew initiated an emergency procedure to land as soon as possible due to the spreading fire. Despite their efforts to manage the situation, the aircraft lost control or structural integrity and impacted the ground near Hersey. Upon impact, the airframe broke apart and was consumed by flames.
The accident resulted in significant casualties among those on board. Three crew members were killed in the crash and subsequent fire. Additionally, four other crew members sustained injuries during the event. The aircraft involved in this incident is identified by the registration 37208 (VP-ML-6).
Findings
