On December 19, 2024, an Antonov An-2, registration RA-33555, was conducting a scheduled flight from Milkovo airfield to Ossora airfield. The mission, approved by the General Director of OOO 'Faeravia', involved transporting 1,262 kg of goods and spare parts for LLC 'Highland Mining Service'.
The crew arrived at Milkovo airfield at 08:30. While the Captain received weather updates via telephone from the Elizovo Aviation Meteorological Center and the Ossora Aviation Meteorological Service regarding the destination and Klyuchi meteorological station, the flight proceeded as planned. Following pre-flight preparations and the loading of cargo and one passenger, the Captain requested engine start permission from Milkovo Air Traffic Control at 09:32.
During the flight, the aircraft encountered icing conditions. This accumulation of ice led to a loss of lift, forcing the aircraft into a landing that resulted in damage to the airframe. No injuries or fatalities were reported following the event.
The incident occurred approximately 87 km north of the Klyuchi settlement in the Ust-Kamchatsky Municipal District, Kamchatka Krai.
