Flight Planning
On 10 December 2024, the crew of an Antonov An-2 aircraft, registration RA-40418, operated by LLC MOBIL AVIA, began preparations for a passenger flight. The aircraft was equipped with ski landing gear. The crew consisted of a pilot-in-command (PIC) and a second pilot, who served as a checking pilot-instructor. The flight was intended to transport six passengers, personnel of LLC Novourengoyskaya Burovaya Kompaniya (NUBK), from the landing site Yamburg-01 to the landing site Tambei-3.
The flight plan for the An-2 was submitted by the PIC on 9 December 2024 at 14:01 via the internet-based flight plan submission system (https://new.ivprf.ru) to the planning and coordination center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System (Tyumen). The airspace along the planned route and near the landing sites lies within a border zone, classified as Class G (up to 1500 meters) with a special usage regime. At 14:02 on 9 December 2024, the center issued clearance for the aircraft to use the airspace.
Pre-Flight Activities
On 10 December 2024, after receiving flight assignment No. 6/4 dated 9 December 2024 from the operator (LLC MOBIL AVIA), the crew commenced pre-flight preparation at 00:12. At the Yamburg-01 landing site, no medical officer was present. The decision regarding the crew members' fitness for flight was made by the PIC, which is in compliance with the requirements of Federal Aviation Rules FAP-128 (Section VIII, paragraph 8.10.1).
