The flight was intended to transport six passengers from the Yamburg-01 landing site to the Tambey-3 landing site. The crew consisted of a captain and a second pilot, with a flight instructor acting as a checking pilot.
During the flight, the aircraft encountered icing conditions. The incident resulted in the aircraft landing outside the designated boundaries of the landing area, causing damage to the aircraft. No injuries or fatalities were reported among the crew or passengers.
The flight plan for RA-4 and the flight permit had been coordinated through the Regional Airspace Control Center (Tumen) prior to departure. The aircraft was equipped with ski landing gear for the mission.
