On July 6, 2025, a Bell 407 helicopter, registration RA-01620, operated by OOO "Romeks-Kuban," was involved in an aviation incident approximately 5.5 km southeast of Maykop, in the Republic of Adygea, Russian Federation. The aircraft was performing planned flights under IFR flight plans originating from the "Expograd" airfield near Krasnodar.
During the flight, the pilot-in-command (PIC) collided the aircraft with an obstacle. Following the collision, the pilot utilized the helicopter's control surfaces in an uncoordinated manner, which led to the aircraft landing with excessive vertical speed. The impact resulted in structural damage to the helicopter, though no injuries or fatalities were reported.
The incident occurred during the daytime under visual meteorological conditions. While the pilot had reviewed meteorological data via various internet services, the investigation noted the influence of a tailwind during the approach.
At the time of the incident, the pilot-in-command was operating the aircraft under a power of attorney issued by OOO "Romeks-Kuban," although no formal employment contract existed between the pilot and the operator on the date of the event. The aircraft preparation was conducted by the pilot and an aviation technician from the company.
