On August 2, 2018, a Mi-2 helicopter operated by OOO "KAVKASTRANS" was performing aerial spraying of rice fields near the village of Novomyshasstovskaya in the Krasnoarmeysky district. The mission was conducted under the instructions of a foreman from the "Agrocomplex named after N.I. Tkachev."
The pilot-in-command conducted pre-flight preparations independently at a landing pad located 3 km west of the village. The pilot did not submit an application for the aerial work to the Rostov Air Traffic Control Center, nor did the pilot request meteorological information or undergo a pre-flight medical examination.
At 02:21:53, the aircraft, registration RA-15652, took off from the company landing pad. On board were the pilot-in-command and a helicopter technician. The flight was intended to proceed to a second landing pad located 6 km south of the village for refueling with aviation fuel and chemicals.
The helicopter subsequently crashed during the agricultural flight operation. The accident resulted in one fatality.
