On November 25, 2021, a Mi-2 helicopter operated by JSC "Aviakompaniya Konvers Avia" was performing well inspection duties for LLC "LUKOIL-AVIA". The flight route included departures and arrivals between the settlements of Langespas, Pokachi, and the Severo-Yeguryakhskoye field.
During the operation, the right landing gear leg of the RA-20406 collapsed into deep snow. This collapse caused the aircraft to overturn, resulting in the rotor blades striking the ground. The impact led to structural damage, a fuel leak, and a subsequent fire. No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.
Prior to the flight, the pilot-in-command had coordinated landing coordinates, cargo, and passenger details with the customer. Due to the lack of an authorized medical professional at the Langespas settlement, the pilot-in-command exercised the authority to permit the crew to fly under specific regulatory provisions.
The investigation noted that the aircraft was operating in an environment with snow cover reaching depths of up to 1.5 meters. The incident occurred while the aircraft was in a hovering state.
