On 20-22 June 2018, a Mi-2 helicopter (RA-23728) operated by Aviacompany Helix was refueled and had its tail rotor replaced at Langepas. A control hover test was performed with no remarks. On 22 June, the aircraft conducted flights for soil and water sampling over the Shchuchye license area.

Refueling and Maintenance

On 20 June 2018, at the base landing site in Langepas, the helicopter was refueled with 700 kg of TS-1 kerosene (requirement No. 012726 dated 20.06.2018), bringing the total fuel onboard to 850 kg (as recorded in the aircraft logbook). After refueling, maintenance personnel from Aviacompany Helix replaced the tail rotor due to its service life expiration.

Control Flight

On the same day, according to the Mi-2 helicopter maintenance schedule (Part 1, Appendix 2), the pilot-in-command performed a control flight (a hover check) after the tail rotor replacement. Following the flight, the pilot recorded in the logbook: "No remarks. Remaining fuel 800 kg."

Flight Assignment

On 22 June 2018, the pilot-in-command operated the Mi-2 helicopter (RA-23728) under a request (No. 281 dated 20.06.2018) in accordance with contract No. LA-17/42 dated 05.10.2017 between Aviacompany Helix and LUKOIL-AVIA. An application for airspace use was submitted to the Ural Center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System (telegram No. 211512 dated 21.06.2018), and a flight plan was filed in a timely manner. Permission was issued by the Tyumen Regional Center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System. The flight assignment (No. 6/7-23 dated 22.06.2018) specified the route: landing site Langepas – landing site Pokachi – aerial survey of the Shchuchye license area (with landings on customer-designated landing sites selected from the air) – landing site Pokachi – landing site Langepas. At Pokachi, four customer representatives were picked up and later dropped off after task completion.

Purpose

The flights were conducted for the purpose of collecting soil and water samples by customer representatives at landing sites they designated, selected from the air, to monitor the ecological situation.
