Accident Details
On 11 March 2022, a Mil Mi-8T helicopter, registration RA-22681, was conducting aerial work to patrol an oil pipeline route. The flight plan specified a route from Pereslegino to Velikie Luki, then to Nevel, and back to Pereslegino, operating in class G airspace under visual flight rules (VFR) at indicated altitudes of 100–150 meters.
The crew initiated the first takeoff from Pereslegino at 06:05 and reported to the Pskov-Rayon controller. However, the controller halted the flight because the submitted flight plan had listed the departure time as 07:01. The crew subsequently landed back at the departure site. A second takeoff was performed at 07:01 as originally planned.
During the landing phase at Pereslegino at 08:26, the helicopter experienced a rightward tilt accompanied by a left rotation. The main rotor blades then struck the ground and ground objects, resulting in the destruction of the aircraft. All persons on board evacuated the helicopter unaided. The crew sustained no injuries, and no fire occurred.
The accident caused substantial damage to the helicopter. No further details regarding the cause of the event were provided in the investigation source.
