Flight Planning and Authorization
On July 23, 2023, a charter agreement No. D-228/07 was signed between AltaAvia LLC and a private customer for a passenger and baggage air transport flight. The planned route for July 27, 2023, was: Karasuk landing site – Tyungur settlement – Belukha mountain area – Tyungur settlement – Karasuk landing site. The flight plan was submitted by the pilot-in-command to the Novosibirsk Regional Center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System on July 26, 2023, at 16:11 via the Moscow flight plan submission server. Permission for the use of airspace No. 261614 was obtained on July 26, 2023.
Pre-Flight Operations
On July 27, 2023, at 00:05, the pilot-in-command reported to the Barnaul-District approach control by telephone as "start of work" and received the regional QNH. The pilot confirmed receipt and reported having meteorological information and that the crew and aircraft were ready for flight. The crew underwent a medical examination from 02:02 to 02:08 at the AltaAvia medical station, as recorded in the medical log. The aircraft's pre-flight preparation was carried out at the Karasuk landing site by AltaAvia engineering and aviation specialists using forms OV and OV1. During preparation, the helicopter was fueled to a full capacity of 2,450 liters. No additional fuel tank was installed in the cargo cabin. The takeoff mass was 9,155 kg with a center of gravity of plus 195 mm, which did not exceed the limitations in the Mi-8T flight manual. After pre-flight preparation, the flight engineer accepted the aircraft, as noted in the work order card dated July 27.
