On July 27, 2023, an Mi-8T helicopter, registration RA-24474, was operating a scheduled flight route from Karasuk to Tyungur, continuing toward the Belukha mountain area, before returning to Karasuk. The flight plan had been submitted to the Novosibirsk Regional Center of the Air Traffic Services System on July 26, 2023.
Prior to departure, the flight crew reported their start of work to the Barnaul-Region dispatcher and received the necessary QNH pressure values. The crew also confirmed they had received all required meteorological information and that both the aircraft and crew were prepared for the mission.
The helicopter took off from the settlement of Karasuk at 03:10. Pre-flight preparations were completed by specialists from the AltaiAvia Integrated Aviation System. During this process, the aircraft was refueled with a total of 2,450 liters of fuel. The takeoff weight was recorded at 9,155 kg, with a center of gravity within the limits specified in the flight manual.
The accident occurred 280 meters south of the settlement of Tyungur in the Ustyukoksin district of the Altai Republic. The crash resulted in six fatalities and no other injuries.
