Contractual Arrangements
On 21 September 2017, Dalnerechensk Avia LLC and Omolon Gold Mining Company LLC entered into a service agreement for passenger, baggage, and cargo transportation by Mi-8 helicopter in the Magadan region. The flight on 17 September 2020 was to be conducted using Mi-8T RA-24532, owned by AK Orlan LLC and leased to Dalnerechensk Avia under a 2015 agreement with subsequent amendments.
Flight Planning
According to the flight order dated 16 September 2020, issued by the Omolon Gold Mining Company representative, and the flight assignment No. 735/16, flights were planned for 17 September 2020 in airspace classes C and G. The route was from Omsukchan airfield to a geographic point (coordinates: 64°05′ N, 155°49′ E) at the Achaginskaya geological exploration area, and return. The flight plan was filed with the Khabarovsk Air Traffic Management Center on 16 September, and clearance was obtained on time. Departure was scheduled for 09:30.
Pre-Flight Activities
At 07:00, two aircraft technicians from AK Priamurye LLC arrived at the helicopter parking area and began scheduled maintenance. At 08:00, the flight crew arrived at the helicopter.
