On September 17, 2020, an Mi-8T helicopter, registration RA-24532, operated by OOO "Dalnerechensk Avia," was conducting a cargo and passenger flight in the Magadan region. The flight was scheduled to travel from Omsukchan airfield to a geodetic point near the Achaginsk prospective area and back.
The landing site, referred to as the "Ochaginskoye" landing site, had been selected from the air. During the approach to this site, the helicopter's main rotor blades made contact with an embankment approximately 5 meters high. This embankment had formed during the clearing of the landing site.
The impact caused the destruction of the main rotor blades and resulted in the helicopter overturning onto its right side. There were no fatalities or injuries reported in the incident.
The flight was part of a service agreement between LLC "Dalnerechensk Aviation" and LLC "Omolonskaya Gold Mining Company" for transportation services within the region.
