On July 14, 2025, a Mi-8T helicopter, registration RA-25660, crashed while operating in the Khabarskov Krai region. The accident occurred near a mountain ridge, approximately 130 km east of the Okhotsk settlement. The flight was part of a planned relocation from the Bereznaya settlement to the Nezabudka settlement, which would have included stops at Magadan and Omsuchchan airfields.
The aircraft, RA-25660, had recently undergone an acceptance inspection by maintenance specialists from Servisnoe Soprovozhdenie Vertoletov LLC between July 10 and July 11, 2025. A test flight performed on July 13, 2025, had yielded no reported issues. Airspace use applications for the flight legs had been submitted via the internet to the regional air traffic control center in Khabarovsk.
The accident resulted in five fatalities. There were no reported survivors or other injuries. The flight was being conducted in mountainous terrain during the daytime.
Investigation findings indicate the aircraft struck a mountain ridge slope. At the time of the accident, mountain peaks were obscured by clouds, and the crew had entered a gorge that resembled an amphitheater.
