On October 6, 2015, the pilot of a Pelican-2 seaplane, registration RA-0441A, departed from a quarry area at approximately 12:00 local time. The flight included one passenger and was intended to transport fishing nets to Mukhrino Lake. The aircraft was loaded with a black plastic box containing nets, two rubber boats, two oars, and a thermos. The flight lasted approximately three hours, returning to the quarry after the nets were deployed.

On the morning of October 10, 2015, the pilot prepared for a second flight to the same location. The objective of this mission was to retrieve the previously installed fishing nets from Mukhrino Lake and return to the water area near the ABZ plant.
