What happened
During an approach and landing sequence at Mae Sot Airport, the aircraft encountered rainy weather conditions. Upon making contact with the runway, the pilot was unable to decelerate the aircraft sufficiently to remain within the available runway length. As the aircraft continued down the runway, it struck a perimeter fence before coming to a final stop.
Despite the impact, all 28 occupants were able to exit the aircraft without injury. The incident resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss, as the structural damage was deemed beyond repair.
Findings
- The presence of rainy conditions during the landing phase contributed to the difficulty in stopping the aircraft.
- The aircraft failed to stop within the remaining runway distance, leading to the collision with a fence.
