Incident Overview
On 23 June 2017, a passenger flight MSI 317 operated by Motor Sich was preparing for departure from Zaporizhzhia to Minsk. The aircraft, an Antonov An-74 with registration UR-74026, began its takeoff roll after engines had reached takeoff power. Shortly after the start of movement, a sudden decrease in right engine RPM occurred.
Crew Actions
The flight crew promptly aborted the takeoff and taxied the aircraft back to the parking area.
Post-Event Inspection
Following the incident, a ground inspection of the aircraft revealed that the right engine's thrust strut (drawing number 7204 6402 919 000 08 12 06) had failed. This failure resulted in the destruction of the front engine attachment points and a longitudinal displacement of the engine. The displacement caused the engine control cables to rupture.
Investigation Status
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No additional details have been released.
