On July 29, 2017, at 09:10 UTC, a Cavok Air Antonov An-74TK-100 departed from the runway during its takeoff roll at São Tomé International Airport, São Tomé and Príncipe. The aircraft overran the runway and sustained substantial damage. Four crew members on board received minor injuries.

Investigation
Preliminary information indicates that the aircraft struck birds, which resulted in engine failure. The National Bureau of Air Accidents Investigation of Ukraine appointed an accredited representative to travel to the accident scene to assist in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
