Accident Overview
On February 10 at 11:11 UTC (13:11 local time), an Antonov An-26B-100, registration UR-ELB, operated by the Ukrainian airline URGA, was involved in an accident while landing at N'Dele aerodrome in the Central African Republic. The aircraft was performing cargo flight UNO-328P from Bangui to N'Dele.
Sequence of Events
During the landing phase, the left main landing gear collided with a soil embankment located within the runway strip. The impact caused the landing gear to collapse, and the aircraft subsequently veered off the runway.
Injuries and Response
Three of the six crew members, all Ukrainian nationals, sustained bodily injuries and were hospitalized. The flight was a commercial cargo operation.
Investigation
In accordance with Article 26 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation and Annex 13, as well as Ukrainian regulations, the National Bureau of Air Accidents Investigation (NBAAI) appointed an accredited representative and advisors to participate in the investigation.
