What happened

During an approach to land on Mistassini Lake, the pilot of a single-engine aircraft encountered a loss of control. The situation escalated rapidly as the machine failed to maintain stability during the final phase of flight. Consequently, the aircraft impacted the water surface and came to rest in an inverted position. Following the impact, the fuselage filled with water and sank beneath the surface.
