What happened
During a scheduled flight for the purpose of conducting calibration services on behalf of the DGAC/SFACT (Service de Formation Aéronautique & de Contrôle Technique), an aircraft experienced an unexpected landing event. While operating in the vicinity of Saint-Yan Airport, the aircraft performed a belly landing on the runway surface. Following the initial impact, the airframe slid across the ground for a distance of several meters before the movement ceased.
There were four crew members on board at the time of the incident. All personnel successfully evacuated the aircraft following the landing and were reported to have escaped the event uninjured.
Findings
The aircraft sustained significant structural damage during the landing sequence, which was ultimately determined to be a total loss as the airframe was damaged beyond repair. The specific circumstances surrounding why the landing gear was not utilized or why the belly landing occurred remain undetermined.
