What happened
On December 1, 2021, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Jet2 was involved in a serious incident during takeoff from Kuusamo Airport. During the departure sequence, the aircraft was operated using an incorrect power setting, creating a hazardous situation during the most critical phase of flight.
The investigation
The investigation into this occurrence was conducted by the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), with the Finnish Safety Investigation Authority (OTKES) participating as an authorized representative. The investigation utilized existing data from several similar previously recorded incidents to analyze the circumstances surrounding the power setting error at Kuusamo.
