What happened
Shortly after departing from Lagos-Murtala Muhammed Airport for a flight bound to Calabar, the aircraft experienced mechanical difficulties. The pilot notified Air Traffic Control regarding issues with the engine, after which permission was granted to perform a return to the departure airport.
During the attempt to execute an emergency landing, the aircraft type struck a tree and crashed in Igbogbo, located in the southern suburb of Ikorodu, approximately 25 km east of the Lagos airfield. The accident resulted in two fatalities and one serious injury.
