What happened
The incident involved an aircraft operating on behalf of the Swedish Air Defense Force. During its mission, the plane was erroneously identified as a hostile target by a German ship. As a result of this misidentification, the naval vessel engaged the aircraft, causing it to be shot down. The wreckage subsequently crashed in the area of Väddö.
