An aircraft crashed in a pasture approximately 7 km from Saravena-Los Colonizadores Airport during its approach, resulting in the deaths of all ten people on board.

What happened

During the final approach to Saravena-Los Colonizadores Airport, the flight crew experienced significant technical difficulties. As a result of these malfunctions, the aircraft became uncontrollable and descended into a pasture situated roughly 7 km from the runway.

The impact resulted in the total destruction of the plane. There were no survivors among the 10 fatalities recorded at the scene. The passengers included several workers from Ecopetrol and the Parker Drilling Company.

Findings

Preliminary reports indicate that the crash was precipitated by technical problems encountered while the aircraft was in its approach phase.

Probable cause

The aircraft became uncontrollable due to technical malfunctions during the approach phase.
